Position Summary:

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer to help us deploy and manage a brand new server stack across multiple environments. You will be empowered to provide design input from the ground floor, and design a server architecture that’s easy to deploy and maintain from day one. You will orchestrate reliable infrastructure that enables the industry’s top talent to deliver new content to fans worldwide, every day of the year. This role reports directly to the Head of Engineering.

Your Day to Day:

You can expect to be responsible and accountable for the following:

  • Collaborate with engineers to define the core architecture for the platform by comparing and leveraging modern SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS solutions
  • Develop deploy scripts, monitoring and backup solutions
  • Maximize operational uptime for customer-facing services
  • Work with engineers to identify performance bottlenecks
  • Maintain environment parity across development, testing, staging, and production
  • Lead efforts to scope, estimate, and prioritize infrastructure improvements

Requirements:
  • 5+ years in software engineering
  • 3+ years in release or reliability engineering, or a related domain
  • Experience with infrastructure management tools (e.g. Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
  • Proficient with Linux-based systems
  • Experience with systems programming and low-level network architecture
  • Experience deploying and managing Jenkins clusters
  • Familiarity with AWS
  • Familiarity with TCP/IP, HTTP, and Websockets
  • Experience with server-side scripting languages (e.g. NodeJS, Python)
“Nice to Have Skills”:
  • Experience with Unity and C#
  • Experience building servers for mobile applications
  • Familiar with Google Cloud Platform
  • Experience deploying data analytics platforms at a massive scale
  • Experience managing DynamoDB or other DB-as-a-service solutions
  • Experience with NodeJS
